Learn Something New Every Day. (Vanilla)

This post is dedicated to my righteous sista, Heidi.  ;)  And to all of you who saw my last random facts and were disconcerted because you really aren't a big fan of chocolate...  Here are some for the vanilla lovers out there.  :)

1. The vanilla bean is the fruit of a tropical American species of orchid. It is the one of the few orchids which produce anything edible and there are more than 20,000 orchid varieties.


2.  It can be used for preventing cancer.

3. It is considered to be the most expensive and precious spice all over the world. 

4. The vanilla oil extracted by fermenting vanilla beans is used to improve digestion.


5.  It can be used for manufacturing medicines that are used for strengthening the immune power of the body.


6.  Vanilla helps to prevent memory loss


7.  Vanilla oil is used to reduce fever as it helps in fighting internal infections.


8.  It is used to cure congestions, cough, and other sinus related problems.






Oh, and I would love to get suggestions from y'all about what you would like to see on here next!

An Autumn Walk.

I love taking walks in the fall when all the leaves are falling and everything is so beautiful and crisp.  Which is why my sisters, mother and I did this the other day.  I had so much fun, and hope we can have many more walks like this.  :)  Some of the funnest times that I can remember have been of me just going on walks with family and friends.

Sisters.  I am so jealous of girls that have a sister that is pretty close to them in age.  I would love my sister to be my best friend...  I guess having a brother as a best friend is just as good.  But still, guys just don't get some things.  :)

It was Israels' idea to put all the leaves together.  I think it was a nice touch, don't you?.  Hehe.   :)

Ahha.  There she is.  :)  I finally got a picture of her.  I think that this picture of her is so cute.  :)

She was tired from carrying that baby everywhere.  Now she knows how mom feels when 9 months pregnant I guess.

Ok, LOVE this picture of her.  Her blue eyes really stand out........Wait.....  I thought that her eyes were green?  They are green,  that's weird....  Oh well, it looks cool anyway.   

 We had a great time collecting leaves, laughing, chatting, and just being girls. (sorry Israel, I know you're not a girl but you were with the girls.  :)  I am looking forward to our next walk!  Hopeful there will be snow soon!  (I love snow!)  :)

Happy Birthday Naomi!

I am so terribly behind in my birthday post this time for Naomi, and I probably missed some others as well.  But oh well at least I'm getting to it right?


Naomi's birthday was on September 6th.  She turned 7 years old this year and it has been so much fun to see her grow in knowledge, understanding and truth.  There are several things that I love about Naomi.

1. She is not afraid of the unusual.  :)

2. She is (despite all her tomboyish tendencies) very beautiful!

3. Smart and thoughtful.

4. She puts up with and even laughs at all my crazy antics as an older sister.   :)

5.  Is.  Oh, so entertaining.

6.  Lets me take ridiculously funny pictures of her while wearing her favorite "cowgirl" getup.  (ok, this picture seriously cracks me up.)

7. Isn't afraid to get her feet wet!

8.  And because she makes me laugh, when I don't necessarily feel like it.

Love you lots Naomi!  I'm so glad that we are sisters!

~Presenting the Prince and Princess~

Last Sunday as we were getting ready for church my little brother, Israel comes up to me and  says "Hannah, will you take pictures of Liberty and Me?  Because we look so much like a Prince and Princess."  How could I tell him no?  So I got my camera out and I took some pictures of my Prince and Princess.  

            As I was taking pictures I realized that the little things like this in life are really what matter and that we can be as rushed as we want on sunday mornings, but if we don't stop to enjoy the gifts that God has given us once in a while then we'll miss it.  And it's things like, little brothers asking me to take their picture, that I wouldn't miss.

I love all of Israel's silly poses, they are so epic!!

babies!

I have a new baby sister as of 2/23/09 we named her 'Liberty Rose Woltersdorf' she is soooo... beautiful and whats more she looks like me! I am thrilled! she weighed out at 7lb 12oz and like 20" long or something like that. She is just a doll I should be getting some pictures of her on here pretty soon!
